In Uzbekistan, an IT Village has been built to involve schoolchildren in the IT sphere

President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, recently paid a visit to the Ministry of Digital Technologies as part of a working visit. During his visit, he was warmly welcomed by the ministry officials and given an extensive briefing on the exciting launch of the IT Village project. This innovative and groundbreaking initiative aims to cultivate an interest in information technologies among students in grades 1-9, providing them with a solid foundation for future success in the digital world.

The IT Village project is not just about introducing young minds to the IT world but about inspiring and attracting them to this rapidly growing field. By providing comprehensive and hands-on training, the project seeks to ignite a passion for technology and equip the younger generation with the necessary skills to thrive in the digital age. During the meeting, the ministry also took the opportunity to present the progress made in implementing the “Uzbekistan-2030” strategy. This comprehensive and forward-thinking strategy is designed to position Uzbekistan as a leading regional IT hub, attracting investment, fostering innovation, and creating a conducive environment for technological advancements.

To achieve this ambitious goal, the authorities are committed to undertaking extensive efforts in digitalizing public administration, enhancing communication infrastructure, and elevating the quality of IT education at all levels.


As part of the broader efforts to improve IT education, the President was also informed about the launch of the IT Village project in the Nurabad district of the Samarkand region. This particular IT Village will serve as a hub for providing schoolchildren in grades 1-9 with fundamental training in various aspects of information technologies.

With state-of-the-art facilities, experienced instructors, and a curriculum tailored to young learners’ needs, this IT Village aims to nurture a new generation of tech-savvy individuals who can contribute to the country’s digital transformation.

Impressed by the initiative and its potential impact, the President directed the authorities to replicate the IT Village model and establish similar centers throughout the country.
